Hengst oil filters effectively clean the circulating oil of dust, metal particles, soot particles and miscellaneous contaminants. Only clean oil reaches the lubrication and bearing points. Hengst oil filters are also characterized by resistance to high temperatures extreme mechanical long-term stability against sudden changes in pressure and resistance to aggressive components in the oil, thereby fully satisfying the ever-evolving demands for use in advanced modern engines.

Only the latest generation of filter media are used, with added synthetic fibers, impregnation and high filtration grades with a large dirt-holding capacity. Additional characteristics are high-quality seals and gaskets as well as a secure and reliable connection between the seal, end cap and filter paper.

Spin-On Type Oil filters

Hengst spin-on oil filters are made of a sheet steel housing with a pressure-tight crimped screw-on plate that contains the filter element. Changing the filter requires replacing this entire system.

Spin-on oil filters have a filter bypass valve that guarantees a sufficient oil supply for cold starts and very dirty filters that are long past their specified replacement point. In these cases, the unfiltered motor oil is fed through the open valve back into the oil circulation system.

The check valve prevents the oil filter from running empty when the engine is shut off.
