Hitachi Fuel Injector - Hitachi makes several varieties of MPI (multipoint injection) and SPI (single point injection) gasoline injectors. The direct injector is used to directly inject gasoline into the engine combustion cylinder. Currently, most systems use an MPI (multipoint injector) scheme which injects fuel to the intake manifold part ahead of the intake valve and combustion cylinder.
