Deluxe - The original pad set used a removable electrical wear sensor on one pad, which Nissan eliminated in mid-'94 in favor of a mechanical sensor attached to two of the pads. Of the brands we offer, only the NPN set still has the one pad drilled to accept the electrical sensor. The other brands (PBR, Akebono, Sumitomo) are equipped with the later-style mechanical sensors instead. If updating to the later-style pads, please remove or tie back the sensor wiring to prevent interference with other parts on the car.

Nissan has updated this brake pad design to incoporate screw-retained pad shims on 2 of the pads. This change occurred on various models sometime during the 92-94 models years. This -61J90 pad set and equivalents SN564P, D1247D, D1247M, and 139-43-46 do not have the threaded retaining holes. Nissan pad #44060-7E690 and our equivalent 139-43-60 do have the holes. Though the Akebono ACT540 and ISD540 pads don't have the holes, they can be used on -7E690 applications when their included shims are also used.
