ISUZU Parts and Accessories
The Japanese company Isuzu has been building cars since 1922 and commercial vehicles and heavy trucks for industrial- and commercial-use since 1924. In 1971, Isuzu penned a deal with General Motors to produce the first Isuzu-built vehicle to be sold in the United States. In 1972, the Chevrolet LUV began to be delivered to American consumers, but ten years later, the model was replaced by the American-build Chevrolet S-10 pickup.

ISUZU PARTS

In 1981, Isuzu finally began shipments of their own cars and trucks to U.S. consumers. Over the years, Isuzu has struggled in the U.S. marketplace. In 1993, Isuzu stopped shipments of cars to the United States. In 2003, Isuzu sales in Canada ceased. Then in July of 2004, production of the Isuzu Rodeo and Isuzu Axiom ended, although these two models made up for 71% of Isuzu's sales in the United States in 2004.

By 2005, Isuzu dealers in the U.S. had only two models to sell, the Isuzu Ascender SUV and the new 2006 Isuzu i-Series pickup truck. During 2005, Isuzu's 290 U.S. dealers only sold an average of only five vehicles per month each. In 2006, production of the 7-passenger Ascender SUV ended, leaving only the 5-passenger model. The Isuzu Ascender is basically a repackaged SUV from the automotive platform that was also the foundation for the GMC Envoy, Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Buick Rainier, and final version of the Oldsmobile Bravada. The i-Series pickup is also a vehicle that was packaged from an existing GMC automotive platform. The Isuzu i-Series truck is based on the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks.

Today Isuzu's only substantial contribution to the U.S. marketplace is the dependable, medium-duty, box trucks in the Isuzu NPR series of commercial trucks.

This kit includes the late-design tensioner bearing and does not include the tensioner push rod assembly (order separately).
