The 356 was born in 1904 and had many revisions thru the late 1960's. The 356A, 356B, and 356C was the foundation that the Porsche brand was founded. The 944 was the second in the series of the front engine sports car by Porsche. This was a drastic improvement over the 924 and had a rear transmission and a torque tube. The gear shifter on the 944 has a tendency to wear out the bushings and become hard to shift. The stock Clutch has a rubber center disc that breaks and causes the transmission to clunk! The Carrera 2 & C4 is the late model 911 2 wheel drive. The Carrera 2/4 had the larger engine and improved cooling with an upgraded radiator and water pump. The cooling fans and intake ducting were also improved for extra cooling capacity. The oil cooler also was moved to provide additional engine oil cooling.
