Toyota Car and Truck Parts History
Toyota Motor Corporation is currently the world's second largest automaker, when you include sales of its half-owned subsidiary Daihatsu. Toyota is responsible for manufacturing automobiles, trucks, buses and robots. In 2005, Toyota was the eighth largest company in the world according to the amount of revenue the company generates. And Toyota is expected to surpass General Motors Corporation to take the title as the largest automobile manufacturer in the world, sometime in 2007 or 2008. Toyota brands include Scion and Lexus and this Japanese corporation is part of the Toyota Group.




Until the 1990's, Toyota had produced mostly compact cars. Then they began adding many larger and more luxurious vehicles to its lineup. During the 1990's, Toyota also began offering a full sized pickup, the T100 (and later the Toyota Tundra which was named Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year for 2000). They also introduced several lines of SUVs and several sport versions of existing models including the Camry Solara.

As of 2006, Toyota has 38 models of vehicles in production under the Toyota brand; some of the more recognizable Toyota models include the Camry, the Corolla, and the Land Cruiser. In 2006, they also had eight models of Lexus and three models of Scion in production.
