The internal type of a Audi 200 alternator regulator is located within the alternator and in some cases is replaceable. To replace the Audi 200 regulator you must remove the power form the battery. The preferred way is to just remove the ground or negative battery cable prior to servicing the Audi 200 alternator or regulator. If the regulator is internal and is not removable, then the entire Audi 200 alternator assembly will need to be replaced.
