Genuine Honda Accord Parts and Performance Information
The Honda Accord became the first Japanese-branded vehicle to be manufactured in the USA starting in 1982, and where it has been the best-selling Japanese car for 20 years (1982-97).
The Accord came in a number of different engine and chassis variations and included the sub model identification of LX, DX, SE, SEi, and a Type-R only available in Europe. The Accord was also available in a coupe, 4 door and a wagon model.
Maintenance - One of the reasons the Accord was so popular, is that it was one of the first cars to be recognized as very reliable and have extremely low maintenance costs. The Accord mostly came with either a 4cyl 
or a V6, and later a 5cyl variation. Both the V6 and the 4cyl use a belt to drive the camshaft and require a timing belt replacement every 60-90K miles. The clutch is also an item needed at about 90,000 miles and we recommend always using the OEM Excedy clutch kit. When replacing the clutch it is a good idea to replace the axle/CV Joints at the same time.
