The internal type of a Hyundai Excel alternator regulator is located within the alternator and in some cases is replaceable. To replace the Hyundai Excel regulator you must remove the power form the battery. The preferred way is to just remove the ground or negative battery cable prior to servicing the Hyundai Excel alternator or regulator. If the regulator is internal and is not removable, then the entire Hyundai Excel alternator assembly will need to be replaced.
