AEM Cold Air Induction Systems

An AEM Cold Air intake system relocates the air filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horesepower and torque. But thats only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engines resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows AEM to deliver the maximum power gains throughout the entire RPM range. AEM also monitors fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light.

All AEM Cold Air Intake systems are dyno-proven and tested against the competition with the goal of creating more useable power than any other system of their kind. AEM Short Ram intake systems are an economical alternative to the Cold Air systems and deliver performance, value and ease of installation over any other short inlet intake. The AEM Short Ram intakes install easily under the hood and cost less than a typical Cold Air Intake..

During the development process, AEM found certain applications respond favorably to shorter inlet lengths over longer Cold Air designs. For these applications, AEM offers a Short Ram system only and does not offer a Cold Air Intake System. AEM performs extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment, which allows our Short Ram systems to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible.
