Porsche 911 Parts, Performance Upgrades and Information - on Porsche 911, 911SC, Turbo, 993, 996, 997, GT2, GT3, C2, C4, and Carrera-2
There are essentially 15 models available for the current Porsche 911. The higher performance 911’s including the GT3, the track-ready GT3 RS, the ferocious 911 Turbo and the ultimate GT2 twin turbo.
911SC - The most affordable and fun to drive is the 80’s version of the 911SC. Today you can pick up this affordable model for under 10K and install upgrades and maintenance at a very affordable price. Remember the first thing to do is to upgrade the timing chain to the hydraulic tensioners.
Porsche 993 - The 993 was the first series with an all-alloy multi-arm rear suspension attached to an all-alloy sub-frame, a fully water cooled engine and a six speed transmission. It is a good idea to repace the igntion wires on the 993 every 30K miles with the OEM Beru Brand to prevent misfires.
Porsche 996 - The Porsche 996’s were available as a coupe or cabriolet with either rear wheel or 4 wheel drive and a 3.4 litre flat-6 normally aspirated engine producing just under 300hp. The 996 mass air flow meter has a tendency to fail due to contamination by solvents in the intake system.
Porsche 997 - The Porsche 997 comes equipped with a 3.8 Litre normally aspirated or a Turbo version. While the exterior styling has changed in fact, the 997 Carrera S and Carrera 4S models share only their roof panels with the 996. The suspension and the interior are a significant upgrade to the 996 with the styling an obvious Audi look and feel.
911 Suspension Upgrades - The easiest way to get improved performance is in the handling department. We recommend using the Bilstein Racing RSR Sport Struts and Shocks. For the later 993, 996 and 997 chassis, a set of Eibach lowering springs will provide the fine tuned balance every Porsche owner is looking for.
911 Brake Upgrades - Porsche’s Brakes have always been dependable and aggressive. Simply upgrading the pad material to ceramic or a semi metallic pad will continue to give that Porsche performance we rely on.
911 Exhaust Upgrades - The Exhaust is always a great place to get an extra bit of HP. The B&B stainless, Miltek, Tubi, GMG or Cargraphic Exhaust System is unbeatable for exhaust note and performance.
911 Clutch Upgrades - The Sachs Sport clutch and lightweight flywheel that is an ideal upgrade for a 911 that isbeing used for spirited driving, autocross, track event, club racing or high horsepower applications.
911 Intake Upgrades - Providing better breathing for the 911 will add torque and increased engine midrange power. Both K&N and BMC provide cold air intakes and high volume air filters.
