The internal type of a Porsche 930 alternator regulator is located within the alternator and in some cases is replaceable. To replace the Porsche 930 regulator you must remove the power form the battery. The preferred way is to just remove the ground or negative battery cable prior to servicing the Porsche 930 alternator or regulator. If the regulator is internal and is not removable, then the entire Porsche 930 alternator assembly will need to be replaced.
