The internal type of a Toyota Land Cruiser alternator regulator is located within the alternator and in some cases is replaceable. To replace the Toyota Land Cruiser regulator you must remove the power form the battery. The preferred way is to just remove the ground or negative battery cable prior to servicing the Toyota Land Cruiser alternator or regulator. If the regulator is internal and is not removable, then the entire Toyota Land Cruiser alternator assembly will need to be replaced.
