The Toyota MR2 clutch master cylinder is located on the firewall typically next to the brake master cylinder and its primary function transfer the clutch pedal pressure to release the clutch. You will know if the Toyota MR2 clutch master cylinder is failing if you rest your foot on the clutch pedal and the pedal slowly goes to the floor.

The Toyota MR2 pressure plate is a critical part of your clutch assembly. You may want to upgrade to a performance or racing Toyota MR2 clutch pressure plate.

The Toyota MR2 clutch release bearing, also known as the throw out bearing is located in the clutch assembly behind the pressure plate and is around the input shaft of the transmission. The Toyota MR2 clutch release bearing is either mechanically or hydraulically controlled. An indicator of a bad Toyota MR2 release bearing is that when you put light pressure on the clutch pedal you will hear a grinding or a rubbing sound.

The Toyota MR2 flywheel is an often overlooked item when replacing the clutch. You should always turn or replace the flywheel when replacing the Toyota MR2 clutch.
