Power Antenna Motors
Replacing the power antenna motor can be a costly and time consuming adventure. The number one problem with replacing the antenna motor is that most consumers use a cheap aftermarket brand to save money. The issue is that aftermarket antennas do not come with the factory wiring harness and the correct antenna opening in the chassis.
By the time you have either paid a mechanic to install the aftermarket unit, or have spent 4 or more hours modifying the antenna to fit in your car, you could have easily paid a little more and installed the factory OEM antenna, and in most cases this can be done in minutes by even the most technically challenged.
Another downside of the aftermarket power antenna is that the chassis hole diameters are not correct. this will cause the chassis to leak into the interior of the car, or even worse, cause the chassis to rust. At DriveWire in most cases we sell the OE unit for the same price you could get the aftermarket antenna motor. Purchase a new OEM power antenna motor and save yourself the headache!
