Brake Shoes Information

    Rear Brake Shoes
    The rear brake shoes are found on drum type brakes and are most often found on the rear axle of the vehicle. The brake shoes do need replacing about every 50K miles or so. When replacing the brake shoes be sure to check the hardware and the wheel cylinders for damage or leakage. This is also a good time to check the brake drums for scoring or unusual wear. The brake shoes come in a primary and a secondary shoe that needs to be replaced in the exact location that they were removed from.
