Serpentine Belts
The alternator belt, power steering belt, water pump belt and ac belt are all driven off of the crankshaft of the engine using a serpentine belt. A serpentine belt will typically drive all the accessories including the alternator, water pump, and power steering belt, the belt is flat in design and is typically a half-inch wide. serpentine belts come in many different lengths and have a serpentine belt tensioner that holds a predetermined pressure against the belt using a spring.
To replace a serpentine belt you will need to make sure you have the tools to take the tension off the belt tensioner, and are able to easily reroute the belt thru the maize of pulleys. Making an accurate diagram of the serpentine belt location and routing will save you hours of frustration. If you are in need of a new serpentine belt you came to the right place.
