Universal Joints - U Joint
The Universal Joint or sometimes called the U Joint is a major component in the drive train and is one of the most often overlooked and underserviced items. Most cars and trucks today have U Joints that are not serviceable. What this means, is that there is no way to grease the joints.
In the older vehicles U joints cane with Zerk fittings that were used to lubricate the joints so they would last longer. Most aftermarket U Joints do come with the fittings needed to service the U Joint and keep it from failing prematurely. Make sure when replacing the Universal Joint that you lubricate the joint with high quality grease before you drive the vehicle.
