New Fuel Injectors

Fuel Injectors
The fuel injector is located in the intake manifold and typically has one injector per cylinder, so if you have 4 cylinders in your car you will have 4 fuel injectors. The fuel injectors are fed fuel by the electric fuel pump and are under significant fuel pressure. It takes only a microscopic particle to plug or restrict the fuel injector. Often you may not even know the fuel injector is not functioning properly until you have your car serviced.

Most repair facilities will tell you can fix the fuel injector by flushing the fuel system for about $200.00. Most real service professionals will tell you this does not work and in most cases this just causes more problems as it dislodges more sediment in the fuel system. The other problems associated with flushing of the fuel injectors is that the chemicals used often destroy the oxygen sensor and possibly the catalytic converter, costing you hundreds more dollars. In most cases you will spend approx $400.00 replacing all of your fuel injectors, and if all is well you will make this expense up in fuel savings over the next year in better fuel mileage.
