Headlight Switch
The headlight switch may also carry the rheostat for the interior dome light. If the dome light is not working, it may be the headlight switch. The headlight switch has small contacts that complete the circuit when the switch is turned to the on position. The contacts do produce carbon deposits over time that causes them to fail. If you can jiggle the headlamp switch and the lights go on and off, than the headlight switch does need to be replaced.
