Coil-Overs and Coilover Kits
The coilover kit or coilovers, are used primarily in racing applications and can be installed on street cars for the ultimate in suspension performance and tuning.
Coilovers are used to replace the stock suspension with a very tunable coil spring and shock configuration. The coil over type of shocks allows you to interchange the springs to accommodate almost any desired spring rate. Some manufacturers allow for bump and rebound adjustment within the shock assembly itself, and on more advanced applications the adjustments may be found in remote shock reservoirs. These spring and shock adjustments will allow the suspension tuner to finely balance the car for any driving or racing condition.
For street and club racing we recommend starting out with an engineered Coilover kit so you don’t spend hours and sometimes day’s fine tuning the suspension set up. The best kits available today are built by Eibach Springs who has decades of F1, Grand Am and Nascar Racing experience.
