Windshield Wiper Motor
The wiper motor is located just in front of the windshield, in the heater wiper motor tray. The wiper motor typically fails due to moisture getting into the stator mechanism and rusting the contacts. As a wiper motor is starting to fail you will see the wiper blades intermittently stop across the windshield. Or when you turn off the wipers they will park in the middle of the windshield. The wiper motor is fairly easy to change as long as you can actually get to the motor.

Make sure if you are going to change the wiper motor, that you install the wiper motor without attaching the wiper linkage to the motor until you have turned on the wiper motor and let the motor park. Then you can put the wipers in the preferred location and attach the wiper linkage. This will avoid any damage to the car from the wipers scraping across the hood of the car.

Cars and trucks on the road today will have a windshield washer to help clean the window while driving. They will utilize a windshield washer reservoir, pump, lines and nozzles to get windshield washer fluid to the windshield. Having a windshield washer setup is good because it allows you to clean the windshield while driving. Windshield washer problems could include a cracked reservoir, broken washer pump, leaking lines or broken-missing washer nozzles.
