Hitachi Distributor This cap has a round mounting base and is for Hitachi distributors. The cap for TEC distributors has an offset mounting base that is flat along one segment (except for '83 Prelude models). . . TEC distributors for '83 Preludes also have round mounting bases, but the cap for the TEC distributor has notches inboard of each mounting ear to clear locating tabs on the distributor body. The cap for the '83 Prelude Hitachi distributor does not require these notches.
