A recipient of the prestigious Deming Award for quality in 1961, we've spent over five decades perfecting our technology and processes, a claim that few automotive manufacturers can make.

In 1972, Denso patented the revolutionary U-Grove spark plug design and the early 1980s we became the first to mass-produce the double platinum spark plug. In the late 1990s, we introduced the ultimate in plug design and performance, the DENSO Iridium spark plug. Originally designed to meet and exceed OE Standards, these plugs were only the beginning of DENSO's expansion into the aftermarket. Following up on the success of the spark plugs, we introduced our First Time Fit® brand of aftermarket components including compressors, starters, alternators, oxygen sensors, fuel pumps, oil and air filters, wipers and more.
