See Application Notices B-45, B-61, and B-84 in the Bosch reman catalog regarding the causes of and solutions to certain "no-start" problems that can occur on this application. . WARNING!! If this starter is being installed on a 85-91½ Golf/Jetta 1.8L, the info in Application Notices B-105 and B-106 in the Bosch reman catalog MUST be followed to prevent damage to the starter drive and flywheel. . If vehicle has up-dated drive plate 053 105 323E, use starter 027 911 000X (SR 0782X). 053 105 323E drive plate is connected to the ring gear at three points (triangular center). The original drive plate has the appearance of a dished tire rim.(solid center) SR 082X and SR 0782X can be identified by refering to Application Noticess B-105 & B-106 in the Bosch reman catalog.
