This pump has a "remote/detached" reservoir. This reservoir has a screen in the bottom that needs to be periodically cleaned. If this is not cleaned or cannot be cleaned due to lack of access, then you must replace this whole reservoir. A dirty screen causes low fluid flow to the pump, which in turn cannot "pump" at full pressure. So if you are experiencing low pressure to the steering system, check this reservoir screen before condemning the pump as the problem.
